Meet Author Teresa LaBella
Teresa LaBella grew up in Davenport, Iowa where the Mississippi River runs east to west. Her storytelling reflects pride and passion as a dual citizen of her birth country and the stunning beauty of home in Nova Scotia.

Inspired and encouraged by the Canadian love of her life met when her online search for a car took an unexpected turn, Teresa published her first contemporary romance novel “Reservations”, the torrid love story of an older woman entrepreneur with a gay Canadian bestie and a younger man executive chef with a Michelin star and a broken heart. Two more novels, “Heartland” and companion “Tales from Heartland” of four homespun short stories set in Iowa, a spin-off novella “Love Unlikely” and second generation search for “Belonging” in the Scottish Highlands complete the New Life in Love family saga romance series.
The author made the genre switch to romantic suspense with the release of “The UnMatchables Case #1: Danger Noted”. Gossip points to a high society celebrity, an assassin with a surprise vendetta and a whistle-blower victim from Montreal who baits the protagonists into a trap set by Chicago PD and private investigators Eddie Emerson and Kelly Gillespie. The Quebec connection continued by way of a Canadian diplomat with a violent past in “Danger Revealed”, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards judges’ choice in the category of best suspense novel for 2024.
In the uniquely Canadian political thriller “Capital Strings” intrigue on Parliament Hill decides the fate of a nation and puts lives on the line.
Teresa voraciously reads many genres and, much to her rescue fur baby Minnie’s crumb-sniffing delight, enjoys recreating tasty dishes from her late chef husband’s treasure trove of recipes.
The author is honoured to be a Writers Council member with the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia.
