I had the honor and privilege to spend blink-of-an-eye moments with Chris Crutcher during his four day author-in-residency in my hometown five years ago. My husband’s emails to Chris resulted in a rare invitation for insightful and delightful conversation with a gifted storyteller last Monday evening. Neighbors and Friends

We neighbors celebrated at a party given in our honor last night.  Fighting for our neighborhood against a foe armed with all the influence money can buy introduced new friends and revealed courage and conviction some never knew they had. Stories shared on what brought us to this moment in our lives may come to life in my cast of future fictional characters.  We neighbors now friends may be bruised from a few battles but we landed a few punches, too.  We congratulated ourselves on sticking together against the odds. Our war isn’t over. But that’s another story.
